Penny War Fundraiser Recap
Posted by camelotlanesoh in General on April 14th, 2010
Back in March, the Phi Sigma Chi group sponsored a very unique event called the Penny War to raise money for the American Cancer Society. They had containers in which groups could deposit pennies into their own containers, earning a single point for each penny. However, if you add anything in value above a penny, such as nickels, dimes, quarters, or even dollar bills, they counted against you (ie $5.00 = -500 points). So, you can compete by putting larger amounts in your opponents jars! The winners get a free bowling party here at Camelot Lanes this month.
We feel wonderful whenever we can help out a good cause. Fundraisers for things like Hospice of the Valley and the American Cancer society are very important to maintaining the quality of life of the folks here in the valley. If you would like to set up a fundraiser of some sort please feel free to contact us.

We at Camelot Lanes recently took part in hosting the Youngstown Parrot Head Club’s Third Annual “St. Practice Day Bar Crawl” fundraiser, which raised money for the Hospice of the Valley. They sent us this letter in thanks for our support:
“Hello Friends!
The Members and Executive Board of The Youngstown Parrot Head Club wish to thank you from the bottom of our Buffett loving hearts for your generosity and hospitality during our Third Annual “St. Practice Day Bar Crawl”!
With your help and kind donation of $100.00, we were able to raise $1,450.00 for Hospice of the Valley. As you know, Hospice is an amazing organization right here in the valley helping patients and their families deal with terminal illness and end-of-life issues. By helping them to continue this valiant work, you have touched someone’s life when they need it the most!
We look forward to visiting your establishment again and again in our ongoing efforts to Party with a Purpose!!!
FINS UP!!!

Teens are Bored and Parents are Worried…
Posted by camelotlanesoh in General on April 7th, 2010
With summer break fast approaching, teens are looking forward to daytime outdoor activities such as baseball, soccer, or simply going to the lake. There is one question that teens face every Summer.
Where do we go when the sun goes down?
As parents, the answers to this question can be troubling. Are the teens cruising around aimlessly from hangout to hangout? Are they simply staying home, lounging around while surfing the internet. Maybe they are playing video games at a friend’s house? There are limited options for teens after dusk.
